Poop Touch!

OK,
I am hoping I still have y'all as followers after this post,
but I suppose it will give you a bit more insight into
my twisted sense of humor...

Remember me mentioning in my weekly wrap-up
that my family (The Hockmans) and
another church family (The Nussbaums)
were taking care of yet ANOTHER church family's garden
(The Woods family)
this past week?

Well,
there is a bit of a game that was started by
the youngest member of the Nussbaum clan and the
father from the Woods family.

It is called...
"Poop Touch."

Yep-
you read it correctly...

"Poop Touch" is similar to the...
..."Cheese Touch" in
Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

(You can see a clip
about the "Cheese Touch" by clicking HERE.)

Somehow,
the youngest Nussbaum got it into his head to call
the "Cheese Touch" the "Poop Touch" one day during a
game of tag,
and Father Woods has been playing it with him
every time they see each other at church.

(I KNOW-
we are the most mature bunch of adults
you have ever read about,
I am sure...)

**********************************

So, the Nussbaums had the idea that we should leave
little "Poop Touch" notes all over the Woods' house
for them to find when they get home.

Inspired by such an ingenious idea,
I went home a created...
...some "Poop Touch" notes for us to hide.

I printed up about 40 notes for the kiddos to hide...
...and hide those notes we did!

They are all over the house...
 ...in cups...
 ...the freezer...
 ...the refrigerator...
 (Hee! Hee!)
 ...the Canola Oil Spray lid...
...the pots...
...and in notebooks.

Gotta say,
the most natural place we hid them was...
...on the toilet seat.

*Ahem*

**************************************

Oh how we love our friends!

I anticipate that they could possibly be finding
these notes
for years to come... ;0)

Jungle Girl's "Arty Birthday Party"

This past Friday evening,
we hosted an
"Arty Birthday Party"
in our church's Fellowship Hall for...
...Jungle Girl and her friends.

************************************************

A couple of weeks before the party,
I whipped up some simple invitations...
 ...which included a paintbrush
to get the kiddos into the theme of the party.

*********************************************

While waiting for all the party guests to arrive,
the kiddos got creative with a little...
 ...butcher paper drawing.

***********************************************

After most of the guests arrived,
we headed over to the painting tables...
...which this lovely young lady had helped me
set up earlier.
(Wasn't she creative with the painting utensils?)  :0)

I let the kiddos paint whatever they wanted to...
...and the results were beautiful!

********************************************

For some colorful snacks at the party,
I made sure the birthday buffet was stocked up on...
 ...Rainbow Goldfish Crackers,
Rainbow Chip Chips Ahoy Cookies, and
..."Rainbow Colored Arranged" chips.

The "cherry on top" for the party eats was...
...THIS rainbow cake I discovered
via Pinterest.

I should not have doubled THIS cake batter
for the Rainbow Cake layers
because...
...the cake had some issues standing
after it was cut.

Oh well-
it was still yummy... :0)

**********************************************

Before we ate,
the kiddos played a couple of games
that were centered around
the art theme...
1.  "Twisted" Painters Palette

Haven't you ever envisioned a Twister Game Board
to be like a painter's palette?

No?

Well, I was stretching for a game to relate to our
art/rainbow colored theme,
so the basic colors of the Twister Board
inspired this game.

(Click HERE for more details about the game...)
2.  A Modified Version of Pictionary

The kiddos drew their pictures on an
Art Easel to add more
"artistic flair" to the game...

******************************************

Jungle Girl handed out goody bags
to her friends when the night came to a close.
The bags each contained:

Skittles
("Taste the Rainbow")

Starbursts
(more colorful candy)

Rainbow colored mini gel pens
(courtesy of the Target Dollar Spot)

Rainbow stickers

and

Mini Paint-swatch Notebooks
(Tutorial can be found HERE

*************************************

I do believe Jungle Girl
had a lovely time at her
"friend" party...
A lovely party
for the loveliest 10 year old I know...

Twisted Painter's Palette

One of the games we played at Jungle Girl's
"Arty Birthday Party"
was called...
...Twisted Painter's Palette.

Yes,
the rules are very much like the game of
except we used 4 palettes
(aka game mats)
and no spinner
(my husband just called out the positions).

***************************************

To make the mats...
...I headed to the local Dollar Tree
and purchased four shower curtain liners
and bought a pack of permanent poster markers
at Wal-Mart.
I made paint splats
(aka swirly circles)
all over the curtain using the permanent markers...
...in a pattern similar to the Twister game mat.

************************************************

To keep the mats a little more secure during the game...
...my sweet teen helper
taped down the edges of the mats
with duct tape to the carpet.

Easy-peasy...
...and so much fun!

Expecting Easter: Coloring Eggs and Resurrection Eggs

The Saturday evening before Easter,
the kiddos and I headed over
to a friend's house...
...and colored five dozen eggs.

We used THIS
Kool-Aid coloring treatment
for our egg colors.

We then used did different techniques
to decorate the eggs,
such as:

A couple of the kiddos also brought
a Glitter Kit and a...
...Stamp Kit to use in the decorating process.
We all had a really good time...
...and created some really cool eggs.

*****************************************

After we were done with the egg decorating,
I pulled out our
for one last time.

Since a couple of the kiddos there
had never seen these eggs before,
I briefly went through all the eggs again,
and,
I must say,
I was glad I did.

One of the girls there was a bit
engrossed by how the soldiers
treated Jesus before (and during)
his crucifixion.

At one point,
she turned to me and asked,
"Did Jesus die like this
for THEM, too?"

What an AWESOME question.

It really brought home to me
the POWER of what Jesus did for
ALL of us.

are such a simple yet POWERFUL
witnessing tool for all ages-
keep in mind that the girl who asked
me this question is currently in the
7th grade...)

************************************

To finish our evening off,
when we got home...
 ...the kiddos "buried" their sins
(from their Cross Boxes)...
 ...inside of the tomb...
 ...in our Calvary Garden.

(Please note how nicely the Kool-Aid egg dye
colored Baby Girl's fingers-
her blood red finger tips really worked nicely
with her purple gingham Easter Dress...)  ;0)

(One more post,
and I will be all caught up with our
Expecting Easter activities-
Woot!  Woot!)

Wednesday

Star Wars B-Day Party

This past Friday,
we were partying like only
the Jedi can...
...to celebrate Little Wild Man's 6th birthday!

As each kiddo entered the party,
he/she received a...
...Jedi Training List.

(You can download a copy by clicking HERE.)

The list contained all the actitivies
(training exercises)
the kiddos had to complete in order to earn
a Jedi Prize Pack by the end of the party.

The checklist included:
 1.  Navigate the Stars
(By Painting a Star Ornament)
(Apparently tickling is important to the
painting process...)
2.  Create Order from the Chaos
(Using Galactic Play Dough)

3.  Devour the Death Star Pizza
4.  Repair R2D2

In order to play this game,
the kiddos each got three batteries,
which they tried to...
X9eOwy on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs
...toss into R2D2's body.

Our winner...
...was able to sink two of the three batteries!

5.  Light Saber Balloon Balancing

After receiving a "light saber"
(aka Large Glow Stick),
and a black balloon...
...the lights were turned off
(except for these little touch lights)...
...and the kiddos tried to keep their balloons in the air
for a long a s possible
with the use of their "light sabers."
Our winner was quite excited with his prize...
 6.  Refuel with Light Saber Cupcakes
Yummmmmmm.....
7.  Guard Jedi "Little Wild Man" as He Opens his Gifts

The kiddos have NO PROBLEM helping the birthday
get into his gifts-
I thought I needed to protect him from his friends!  ;0)
I am so glad
I caught this facial expression on camera-
priceless!

After fulfilling the training requirements,
I held a mini-Awards Ceremony-
complete with the Star Wars Theme Song.
All of the Jedis received a medal...
...and a treat bag, which contained...
 ...Starbursts, Milky Ways,
Star Wars Fruit Roll Ups, Star Stickers and...
...a Star Wars Candy Fan.

(The boys received Darth Vader and
the girls received Princess Leia.)

Oh my Little Wild Man...
...may the force be with you as you
INSIST on growing up...

*SIGH*
