Before Meets After: Whiter Than Snow...

This past Sunday was a BIG day in
"The Fantastic Five" household...
Both Jungle Girl and Baby Girl
made the decision to be baptized!

****************************************

Both of them have been asking questions
about baptism for a while now,
so after they talked with us
(and our Children's Minister),
we all felt they were very sincere and ready
to make this life changing decision.

In case you are wondering,
we are of the belief that baptism is an important
decision people make
to be cleansed of their sins,
accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior,
and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This act is the beginning of a journey
to daily follow Christ
and explore a deeper relationship with him
as one of his disciples.

***************************************

Little Wild Man and I had...
...a "back stage pass"
for the main event...
...and Super Dad had the honor of
performing their baptisms.

**********************************************

Here is Baby Girl's Baptism...

...and here is Jungle Girl's baptism...

Before...
...meets After.
Now my girlies are
whiter than snow....

Thursday

Before Meets After: The Shower

The first task I tackled on my
"10 Tasks in 10 Days" list
was...
...cleaning our shower.

Now, before we go any further,
I must warn you...
...what you are about to see is seriously
disgusting.

If you have...
...a weak stomach,
you might want to turn away now...

***********************************************

Here we go....
...this is the inside of the shower.

DISGUSTING-
I know...

Even the items in the shower...
...had developed a nice scummy exterior.

************************************************

Now, the tools I used to clean
this monstrosity are...
...baking soda, vinegar,
an old toothbrush, and a scrubby sponge.
You can see here how the baking soda and vinegar
create a nice
"cleaning fizz"
when they are combined.
Combine that fizz with a little elbow grease...
...and rise with water...
...and your left......with a nice CLEAN shower!
Oh, and the vinegar and baking soda
even cleaned off that hazy soap scum
off of our shower door.
To keep the shower from getting so
nasty again,
I hope to squeegee the shower walls
with vinegar a few times a week.
One task complete,
nine more to go...

**************************************

Check out what others are getting done
over at "Sit Relax and Read's"

Before Meets After: Girls' Room

#3 on my "To-Do" list while the kiddos
were away was to add
a little "detail" to the
girls' room.

Again, Jungle Girl and Baby Girl's room
has been like...
...this since we moved in two years ago.

I love everything about it-
minus the curtains-
I will be changing those out-
SOON!

But, since I did something fun to
Little Wild Man's walls,
i felt like the girls needed some "details also.

Enter my Cricut Cutting System,
which helped me produced......these beautiful butterflies!
Add some "Fun-Tak"...
...and the butterflies have taken flight!

OK, the major projects for my
"To-Do" List are checked off...

My kiddos can come home now...

Please...

Soon...

Thursday

Before Meets After: Little Wild Man's Room

#2 on my "To Do" list while the kiddos were away
was finishing up
"the road"
in Little Wild Man's room.

When we moved into this house two years ago...
...I was able to paint Little Wild Man's room...
...EXCEPT for one little detail.
I never finished "the road."
The cars have waited long enough!

To finish the walls, I used...
...simple permanent markers...

...and a a white paint pen.

Now, I couldn't make a road
without cars, could I?
(Again, I have had these
Target Car Wall Decals
for TWO YEARS!)
Looks like traffic is flowing nicely this evening on I-40...
Oh man- don't tail-gaters just drive you crazy?
(Hopefully this wall will not lead
Little Wild Man down the fast track
when he gets his driver's license!)

Before Meets After: Consignment Closet

This week,
all of my kiddos have been gone
visiting their Nana and Papa.

It has been VERY quiet around here.

To keep myself busy,
(And believe me, there's PLENTY of stuff
around here to keep me busy!),
I have been working on a couple of projects.

The first project,
which took me about four days to complete,
was organizing my
Consignment Sale Closet.

I help organize a children's consignment sale,
(known as The Lil' Angels Attic Sale)
at our church.

I keep all the "stuff" I am going to sell...
...on the right side of this crawl space/mini attic,
which is attached to my bedroom closet.

(The left side houses suitcases and holiday decor.)

I had been piling stuff upon stuff in that small space
over the past year.

I pulled it ALL out...

Can you see why this took me a few days to organize?

********************************************

Now...
...I am breathing a sigh of relief.
All the clothes I will be selling
in the Fall and in the Spring are on hangers
and ready to go.
All the toys and other odds and ends
are cleaned and packaged,
ready to go to SOMEONE ELSE'S home.
My items for the fall sale
(which is at the end of September)...
...are all tagged and ready to leave.

I am SO HAPPY!

Hopefully,
I can now keep the closet organized...

Oi!
