Thumbprint Tree

Our Children's Ministry recently had to say
goodbye to an
AWESOME
intern and his lovely wife.

It is not surprise to us...
...that this crazy guy got a job
as a youth minister in Florida.

We are SO HAPPY for them-
but we are gonna miss them.

To send them off in style,
we threw them a little
Cinco de Mayo Farewell Party
in Children's Church this past Sunday.

We also wanted them to have
something to remember us by,
but that would also continue to inspire them
in their ministry.

Enter...
...the Thumbprint Tree.

I got a canvas at JoAnn's
and using a brown paint pen,
I created a funky tree outline.

After adding a few paper leaves,
all of...
...these precious kiddos
used different shades of green ink
to place...
...their thumbprints all over the tree
for leaves!
I also wrote the kiddos' names
next to their leaves...
...so Mr. Isaak and Miss Sarah
will always remember the kiddos
who helped start their ministry.

We also pray that God will continue to
"grow" their ministry
as they continue to serve him.

We love you guys!!!

Graduate, You Nailed It!

I recently put together
a simple graduation present
for an awesome girl
who just finished her college degree.

I thought I would share it
in case anyone else out there needs a gift idea
for a special graduate girl in their life...
The theme for the bucket was
"Graduate, You Nailed It!"

For the "filling" I used...
...cotton balls,
which can be used during a mani/pedi,
with a bit of ribbon for color.

I filled the basket with...
...nail polish remover, nail polish...
...a Target gift card...
...and a little nail care kit with
foot shaped clippers
(all from the Target Dollar Spot).
I tied a cute little nail file to the kit
(also Target Dollar Spot)
along with a note...
...and this graduate was ready to get her giftie!

Get Well Giftie

Last week,
the day after Easter,
we got word that
our Mimi...
...our funny, silly, creative,
kiddo-lovin'
Mimi,
collapsed due to the flu
and broke her toe.

(This would ONLY happen to you, Mimi,
only you...)

She is doing fine now,
recovering very nicely,
but when we heard of her plight,
we wanted to make certain she knew how
much we wanted her to get better.

Enter...
...the "Get Well Gifitie" Basket.
It was a lot of fun putting this together,
with a few "medicinal" touches...

(Yes- this bottle says "Whiskey."
It is a joke we shared-
a little "alcohol" to dull the pain...)  ;0)
Oh,
and we wanted to make certain
her toes were kept
pretty
while they recovered...

We love you, Mimi!!!

Sunday

Sundae Bath Salts for a Mother's Day Treat

For Mother's Day this year,
came to my rescue
(again)
and gave me inspiration for the gifts
my K-1 Sunday School kiddos
would be giving their mothers...
...Sundae Bath Salts!

I saw the idea on THIS website,
but I wanted to show how I put them together
for a class of 18 kiddos...

*********************************************

First,
I gathered up all the supplies I needed:
Bath poofs
Clear plastic cups
Pom-poms
Epsom salt
Kosher salt
First,
I made the bath salts for the "sundae":

Mix 1 cup of Kosher Salt with 2 cups of Epsom salt.
Add 4 drops of Peppermint Oil to the salts
and stir up the mixture.
Here are all of the bath salts
(1/2 cup in each bag)
ready to be turned into sundaes.
To make the sundaes,
just put the bag of salts in the bottom of the cup
and a bath poof on top...
...add a straw
and put a cherry pom-pom on top,
and you have a
Sundae Bath Salt gift!
I added a note for the kiddos to sign...
 ...when they gave the
gift to their Mamas...
...which included the instructions on the back.

They are almost pretty enough...
 ...to eat!  :0)

Happy Mother's Day
to all my friends in blog land-
I hope you were all pampered a bit today...
