Expecting Easter- The Family Lenten Tree

We are truly making more of an effort
to celebrate the joy of Easter
here at
The Fantastic Five,
just as we did with our
this past December.

After pooling together a few resources
and setting up...
...our personal Lenten Countdown Trees...

(Read more about them by clicking
HERE...)
...we began our
Trail to the Tree Devotionals.

My plan is to add a
kiddo-friendly activity to each of the
Biblical stories.

The first story was about
Adam and Eve
and the beginning of human sin...

The HOPE we can cling to
in this story can be found in
Genesis 3:15:

 "And I will put enmity
   between you and the woman,
   and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

I told the kiddos that the
"he"
God is talking about there is
Jesus.

The plan was there,
from the beginning,
to send us a Savior
who would crush Satan
and free us from our sinful nature...

So,
to create a reminder for our family
about God's plan for salvation,
the kiddos and I got to work on an
Easter Tree.
The kiddos
(and our doggies)
went with me into the backyard
to gather some branches
for our tree...

**********************************

After to branches were gathered...
...they were arranged in a tall
candle holder...
...along with several jewels to keep
the branches in place.

Later that evening,
I printed, laminated, and cut out
the ornamental pictures
found in the

I arranged them all on our
Easter Tree,
along with some egg ornaments
I found at the Target Dollar Spot...

Now our mantle is beginning to look...
...like Easter should.
