Friday

June 20th-26th

Highlights from this week include:

*The girls coming back from Kentucky
after visiting family

*Spent the evening sketching out our
next homeschooling year with a friend

We plan on doing several activities together,
so getting on the same page with our unit studies
is essential!

with another family,
since it was $1 admission in honor of the

Here are some of the fun hands-on activites
we got ourselves into:

*Said good-bye to a faithful family at church
who is moving to North Carolina

Their triplets are Jungle Girl's age,
and have grown up with her
since preschool,
so there will be a weird void in
her class for awhile...

*Ate at our fav Japanese Buffet
with a gob slob of
"friends who are like family"
after church on Sunday

*Began Monsters University Week
in anticipation of attending the movie
with our homeschooling-in-the-hood friends

We did SO MUCH with this theme,
you really just need to click
to read all of the related posts.

*Went shopping with my
non-blood related niece to get her
accessories for her
SENIOR YEAR PHOTOS!!!

(Man, where has the time GONE?!?!?!?)

Hands-On Homeschooling
Outfit

Did A LOT of hands-on activities in our
homeschool lessons today,
so I had to be comfy-
and prepared to get dirty!
I did wear a fun bandanna
in my hair as a headband-
that's SOMETHING, right?

Friday
Go Big Orange!
Outfit

When you grow up in a college town,
you dress in support of your team
the day before the game...

My big orange T is for stands for the
University of Tennessee Volunteers-

I'm All Vol!

See, even my toes support my team-
which lost-
BIG TIME-
by the way...

Monday
Putting on My Teacher Hat
Outfit

Yes, I teach my own kiddos daily,
but this year my best bud and I...

(you can learn more about her and her
FABULOUSLY creative
mind over at Piecelove)

...are co-teaching two classes in our
Homeschool Group.
Here are the accessories I wore
that matched the outfit...
...and here are the accessories I wore just for our
CSI Science class.

Our first couple of lessons are about
Bone Mysteries,
which I will blog about sometime in the future...

Tuesday
Go Colts!
Outfit

My husband is from Indianapolis,
and the Colts current quarterback,
Peyton Manning,
was UT's former quarterback,
so my loyalty for the Colts in professional football
runs pretty deep...
...even though it looks like it's gonna be a tough season
for them...

Oh well...

wiww and Weekend Wear: Like Apples to Apples

Well, this was an interesting week.

Here are the highs and lows...

*********************************************

Thursday
Apple Pickin'
Outfit

My favorite sweat-stained cap
and a bright orange fruit picker
were my accessories of choice...

*************************************************

Sunday
Lovin' Layers
Outfit

I was SO EXCITED on Sunday morning because
it was actually nippy-
Fall is just around the corner-
YAHOO!!!.

So, I layered my black dress with a crocheted shrug...

...and I layered my necklaces, too!

(The gold leaf necklace was my mother's-
my father gave it to her on one of their anniversaries...
it's an actual gold covered leaf!)

Sunday
(after Church)
Old Reliable
Outfit

(I've had this T-shirt since college...
it's definitely a "go-to"
when I need to slouch around...)

****************************************

Monday
"Why are You Wearing So Much Red?"
Outfit

(The title for my outfit comes from a direct quote
from my 6 year old daughter.
I guess she was a little taken by my color choice...)
(Do you know how hard it is to take a picture
of the back of your own head?)

Tuesday
You ARE Seeing Double
Outfit

Yup, I slept in this outfit,
worked out in it,
cut up 60 + apples in it,
homeschooled the kiddos in it,
and cleaned the house in it today,
'cause I was too busy to change.

Just keepin' it real...

wiww and Weekend Wear: From Blah to Oh Yeah!

The beginning of this week I was a slob.
Well, I at least dressed like one.

I was in my PJ's most of the time
or "bandanna"-ing it,
'cause I was finishing up household projects
while the kiddos were away.

But, round about Sunday
things took a turn for the better...

************************************************

Sunday
Happenin' Hairband
Outfit
Began my Sunday going to church
with these fun accessories...
...and went back to church in the evening
a bit more casual,
ready to sing and dance
with our
"His Kids" choir.

**************************************

Tuesday
Going to the Grocery
While Dreaming of Paris
Outfit
Someday I WILL go to Europe,
and have an expresso
in a little cafe in Paris...
This necklace was a gift from my parents
on my first Mother's Day
as a mother...

I don't wear it enough...

*****************************************

Wednesday
Fresh and Funky for a Field Trip
Outfit

I'm taking the kiddos on a field trip to the
museum today...
...so I must be well accessorized!
