Friday

October 13th-19th

Saturday:

My friend April and I went thrift store shopping-
she needed some new clothes, and I needed pieces for
the kiddos' Halloween costumes.

We had SO MUCH FUN!

I really enjoy chillin' with my friend-
and dressing her up like a life-sized Barbie doll-
I am so glad she humors me...

Sunday:

After church,
we met Nana and Papa
(who were swinging through K-town
on their way home to Indiana)
for lunch,
and then headed to the mall to get
Baby Girl's ears pierced.

She did it with her BFF,
and she was a trouper!

No tears-
but her bestie almost passed out afterwards.

Good times, good times...

Monday-Friday:

Really,
no major life changing events
have occurred this week,
so I thought I would just list the highlights
from our homeschooling adventures:

*Jungle Girl showed her finished
"The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"
lapbook to my dad,
who is an English professor.

He wants her entire finished
Narnia lapbook set for his office when she is done,
since he has an EXTENSIVE
C.S. Lewis literature collection.

*The kiddos all finished up their
Animal Habitat Projects.

*Smiley B finished up all his

*We F-I-N-A-L-L-Y
started in on the Northeastern
United States-
I have decided that we function best with
doing Science for a couple of weeks,
and then moving on to Social Studies.

*We have been having so much fun around here
that I TOTALLY missed the deadline for the
"Scarecrows in the Park" contest.

*SIGH*

Maybe next year...

*Played, played, and played some more outside-
as nasty as this past Summer weather was,
Fall has MORE than made up for it with
its beauty...

  2. I like your idea of alternating science and social studies -- we do things much the same way. My brain just can't focus on so much at one time!

    Hope you're enjoying the weekend!
