Math Monday: Estimation Has Gone to the Dogs!

Last week,
during our letter C study,
Clifford the Big Red Dog was the theme for Thursday's
preschool lessons.

So, for fun with math during snack time,
the kiddos participated in a little bit of estimation...


I wanted to do this activity with
Scooby Doo Graham Cracker Sticks,
but, alas,
my local grocery store did not have them,
so I chose some...

...regular graham cracker sticks.
(They look kinds doggie-treatish, don't ya think?)

I dumped an entire box into a bowl
and had the kiddos estimate how many doggie treats
there were...

After they made their guesses,
we counted the "bones" out in
groups of tens.

The actual total?

(Looks like the kiddos need some more
estimation practice!)

After all that counting......the kiddos enjoyed their snack...

(And some of them enjoyed it more than others!)
