Saturday

March 7th-13th

Highlights from this past week include:

*Made paper Underground Railroad lanterns
with our Lemonhead Homeschooling group

After we finished learning about
Westward Expansion in America
we moved on into the historical topics of
the Underground Railroad and the Civil War.

*Spending some MUCH needed time with our
friend-that-are-like-family,
the Nussbaums

We went to the park and then hung out
at their house.

This family is one of those families that
ALL of us get along
AND
our kiddos are all around each other's ages.

We are planning on going to the beach
with them this Summer
and I could NOT be more thrilled!

*Played games with some fun kiddos
at church in our evening
Kid Klubs

Dominoes, Apples to Apples, and a
drawing game
were all on tap for the evening.

Let me tell ya,
I draw one mean ferret!

;0)

*Monday evening we began our Lenten bible study,

We lit the first candle in our Lenten cross
and sent the kiddos on a
Scavenger Hunt
for the study.

After St. Patty's Day,
we hope to really get our hearts focused on Easter
with several fun activities-
I can't wait!

(If you need ANY motivation or ideas
for how to truly focus your family
during the Lent season,
PLEASE read THIS blog post from

*Dealt with a bit of of stomach bug
running through the house

Baby Girl, Jungle Girl, and Super Dad
all came down with it.

This nice thing about this bug is is seems
to only last for 24 hours.

I am knocking on wood
that Little Wild Man and I
do NOT pick it up this weekend!

*Only had a couple of the littles this week,
so schooling for them just consisted of
a few St. Patty's day sheets

*Enjoyed a little Leprechaun Lunch
in between stomach bug cases

*Marveled at the craziness of
East Tennessee Spring weather

Tuesday we were at 75 degrees-
by Wednesday evening we had a light
dusting of SNOW on the ground-
CRAZINESS!!!

*Cleaned, cleaned, CLEANED our bathrooms
in hopes to keep those
stomach bug germs
AWAY!!!

  1. I am amazed at all you get done, especially a week in which there was flu at your house! It is wonderful when you find a family you can click with, isn't it? I hope you two don't get sick this weekend.

  2. Really? A smile on your face with the toilet brush in your hand? Only you, my friend. It makes me happy to read your bog!

  3. We're still looking for that perfect family for us. We had some that were nearly perfect, but unfortunately they moved. Sigh, and double sigh.
