Tricky Little Leprechaun

Yesterday,
Little Wild Man
and
Baby Girl
came up with a trap...
...hoping to catch a Leprechaun.

Here is...
 ...Baby Girl's sketched trap idea,
and here is...
...Little Wild Man's "dastardly" trap idea.

After planning out on paper and discussing their ideas
with one another...
...they came up with a joint idea to catch that
sneaky little man in green.

********************************************

In order to make the trap more
"inviting"
for the little lad...
...I gave all the kiddos a
wooden Leprechaun to decorate.
 After {mostly} coloring the Leprechauns...

(We ran out of time since the girls needed to get to
their dance classes...)

(Oh yes, Little Wild Man is groovin' to his DSi tunes while he works...)
...the kiddos set them
in front of the trap,
 kinda like a
"Welcoming Committee"
for the little man
they desired to catch.

*****************************************

Here is how the trap
was constructed to work:
 Lured by the shiny dime..
...the Leprechaun will climb up the stick ladder...
...and try to take the money off of the
loose Lego plank.

He will then lose his balance,
falling...
...onto the balloon trampoline,
which he will bounce off of and land
into the cup.

***********************************

Unfortunately,
that sneaky little Leprechaun
was too smart for us...
He was able to get out of the trap...
...using his smarts.

I asked the kiddos how we could
improve the trap for next year,
and they are already planning...

In the mean time...
We spent the morning enjoying the
treats-
AND tricks-
that our little friend
left for us...
************************************

Little Larry set out...
 ...some treat baskets...
...with our traditional St. Patrick's Day breakfast
of Lucky Charms Cereal.
Each of the baskets contained
rainbow colored Skittles,
"golden" Reece's Peanut Butter cups,
rainbow colored crayon rings,
a blinged-out chain necklace,
and Pop Ring "jewels."

And as for the tricks?

Larry left us with...
...green milk for our cereal...
 ...green water
in the downstairs toilet...
...AND green water coming out of the
downstairs bathroom faucet.

Really-
it was green...
...here is the proof.

(Side note:
Little Larry may or may not have used
Steve Spangler's
to change the faucet water...
just sayin'...)

****************************************

Thank you,
Mr. Larry...
...for making our St. Patty's Day morning
very eventful.

But-
just be warned...

...we WILL be ready for you next year...
 ...so watch out!

**********************************

Happy St. Patrick's Day,
everybody!  :0)
