Science Sunday: Grins and Grimaces

In our science lesson this week,
we read about how the Mandrill uses
facial expressions to communicate.

A yawn coming from this monkey
means "Get away, you're making me angry!",
while a menacing toothy grin is actually a
sign of friendship.

We decided to play a game to illustrate the point
about animal communication called
"Grins and Grimaces."

I created some game cards
(you can download them by clicking HERE)
that listed different phrases the kiddos
often ask/say of/to me and each other.

Each kiddo would choose a phase and then
act it out for their siblings,
who tried to guess what they were doing.

(Yup- we basically played charades!)

(Please excuse the fact that Little Wild Man
is in his undies...)

It was great fun!
