Science Sunday: Awesome Airplanes

After studying about the Bernoulli Principle with balloons,
we had to test the theory out a little further by
flying some paper airplanes...

I got this model...
"The Flying Squirrel,"
from Family Fun...
...and the Monkey Plane model
from Almost Unschoolers.

The kiddos each chose which model
they thought would fly the farthest...
Jungle Girl chose the Flying Squirrel...
Baby Girl chose the Flying Squirrel...
...and Little Wild Man chose the Monkey Plane.

The we went outside
and tested their theories...
Look...
It's a bird...
No...
It's a plane...
...A PAPER plane!

And, if you can't tell by the many, many
pictures I took,
the Monkey Plane
won by a landslide!

(Please, Almost Unschoolers,
let your husband know that
his plane really IS the
BEST EVER!!!)

Oh, paper planes are so much fun!

For more fun with Science,
head on over to Science Sunday...

  1. We're going to be trying all of this soon. I'n glad to see the monkey flyer works so well. And I would have picked the flying squirrel too with no prior knowledge because he looks so happy.
