TOS Crew Review: Pearson Education-Social Studies 1st Grade

Not to long ago,
I received...
...Scott Foresman's
Social Studies: All Together
textbook from Pearson Education
to review.

This text is written for 1st graders,
but I do believe it will be easily adapted for
Kindergarten or 2nd graders...

***************************************

Next year, I plan on focusing on the
the United States of America for the kiddos'
Social Studies component,
and this textbook will prove extremely useful
with our studies...
In the beginning of the book,
there is a pre-section devoted to different
areas in the USA...
(SCORE!!!)

*******************************************

In the text itself,
there are six
well planned, well laid out units...

*************************************************

Each section contains colorful, kid-friendly text...
...like this vocabulary intro page about school.

**************************************************

Every chapter also has a...
...target skill...
...living history segments...
...map and globe skills...
...mini-biographies...
...thinking skills...
...chart and graph skills...
...poetry...
...projects...
...and internet links.

*************************************************

The chapters end with...
...great review questions...
...over all the skills from the chapter.

**************************************************

At the end of the book is...
...a wonderful reference guide...
...with beautiful pictures...
...and maps.
An easy-to-understand picture glossary...
...and geography terms are also included at the end.

This book is $43.47 for the student edition,
