To Catch a Leprechaun...

Top 'o the morning...

I KNOW I said I probably wouldn't be posting anything this week,
due to the children's clothing consignment sale going on at our church,
but it's St. Patrick's Day today,
and I just couldn't resist...

Yesterday, we learned about St. Patrick
and all that he did for Christ in Ireland.

We also discussed other Irish traditions,
including that sneaky little creature know as the Leprechaun.

Well, we thought we could outsmart the little lad...
...so we created a trap to try and catch him!

(This trap idea was from Family Fun.)

We did not succeed!
He got away, leaving little presents and messes
all over the house in the process...

I must say,
this is the best way to "go green"...

P.S. I will be posting all the other activities we were up to this week at a later date,
when I am no longer up to my ears in children's clothing!

  1. So much fun, despite asking for suggestions we have yet to get any of it done yet. But, I'm trying. Really I am. I plan to go by the recycling center today to pick up supplies.

  2. Looks like the kids had fun! We didn't catch those sneaky little guys either, but they did leave surprises for my girls, too. They had a fun morning before school. Maybe next year we will trap them!

  4. Entirely too cute! I'm afraid I completely skipped St. Patricks Day this year... but E's pre-school was attacked by pesky Leprechauns who created a mess in their classroom and turned their toilet water green. She is now pointing to every mess in our house and blaming it on the wee creatures. Wish I could do the same!

  5. What a great trap! I don't understand how it could have possibly failed. Those leprechauns sure are sneaky! Looks like the kiddos had a lot of fun! :-)

  6. I hope that your week is going smoothly as you are busy with the children's clothing consignment sale. Hopefully, you can sneak in a little time just for you over the weekend.

Your leprechauns sound like they were in cahoots with ours - sneaky and mischevious!

Sinus infections are nasty. When I was teaching I used to get them at least once during winter. Come to think of it, I have not had one for ages. I hope I don't jinx myself now - yikes. I am hoping that yours is now a distant memory.
