****SPOILER ALERT TO ALL THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS WE GIVE GIFTS TO****
The kiddos make something for all of our friends and family every year, and this year I decided they would make Salt Dough Ornaments.
The recipe I used was as follows:
Salt Dough
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cup salt
1 package of any flavored Kool-Aid (or, in our case, the Aldi version- "Mixaide")
2 cup of cold water
Directions:
Combine the dry ingredients. Slowly add the water in and stir it to the consistency* you want. Knead the dough, roll it out on a floured surface, and you are ready for the cookie cutters!
*I found that the dough was too sticky, so as I kneaded it, I added flour until it felt right.

I LOVE the candy cane ornaments!! They all look so lovely!
ReplyDeleteJungle girl will be glad you said so!
ReplyDeleteLove these! They are great! You don't need to bake them at all?
ReplyDeleteWeeelllll Sherry, I have been baking them a bit! I let them dry overnight and then put in batches on my pizza pans at 200 degrees for, well, a few hours. Otherwise, I am assuming they would dry out in a few days.
ReplyDeleteWe have had A LOT of rain here, and I think all that humidity has S-L-O-W-E-D down the process.
