Highlights from this week include:
*Our neighbor,
Mr. Royce,
caming over to show us the nearly
6 foot long black snake he caught in his yard
(AWESOME!!!)
*Met with our Lemonhead Homeschool Group
and discussed the origins of Halloween
in America-
then we crafted up some fabric ghosts
like the pioneers may have back in the 1800's
*Heading to the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch
at Oakes Farm
This is only the second time we have attended
this event,
and it is worth every penny.
We all came home with a pumpkin,
too, which was fortunate,
since we had no "real" pumpkins
for our porch display yet...
*Dancing/running "Annie" scenes
in 2 inch heeled character shoes,
for the first time,
for almost four hours straight
(Can you say, "Ouch?!?!?")
*Watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"
and then painting pumpkins with all the kiddos
You have not lived until you let
;0)
*Continued learning about the letter H
with the littles,
which included creating different
"Happy Haunted Houses"
I was inspired by the GREAT
who does "Happy Houses" with her kiddos
every year.
We created paper bag houses,
gingerbread houses,
and
(I HOPE to post about them all later...)
*Dressing up like pirates
for our church's
Trunk or Treat
and giving out pirate tattoos
to all of the kiddos who came
*Set up a graveyard in our front yard
with the leftovers
from my generously creative neighbor's
Halloween stash
*Crafted up some Ghostie Boo Band treat cards
for the kiddos to hand out
to their friends on Halloween
*Completed the "Candy Corn Caper"
with the littles and the help
of my older kiddos
This activity was so fun!
The kiddos came in from playing outside,
only to discover that the
Candy Corn Bandit
I was giving them.
and discovered where
he had hidden the loot in the end!
And for some added fun,
we had
Candy Corn Biscuit Pizza for lunch-
yummmmmm!
