Bible Alive! Tuesday: Prayers for This Child

scared me a little.
I KNOW kiddos get sick and throw up all the time,
and are totally fine,
but she could NOT keep anything down.

So,
what's a mother to do,
after bleaching everything,
giving out ice chips,
having her husband call our Physican's Assistant,
(Thank You, Dayspring Family Care!)
and making her patient as comfortable as possible?

Pray.

Ask others to pray.
(Thank you to all who did!)

And the peace and strength
that is needed
will come.

I will leave you with the lyrics
of a song by
Sara Groves
entitled
"Prayers for This Child."

It expresses beautifully how
I feel right now...

***************************************************
I do not know how I am to pray for this child
as a mother I don't want my baby denied
but in the waiting in the waiting
I learned

every instinct in me wants to shield him from pain
take the arrows of misery heartache and blame
but in the sorrow in the sorrow
I learned to hold on

I only have two eyes - be all seeing
I only have two hands - be everywhere
I do not know enough - to be all knowing
I give this baby up into your care

I do not know how, how to pray for this child
I want to guard her from everything wicked and wild
but in the trial in the trial
I learned to hold on
And in the trial, in the trial
I learned to hold on to the heart of God

  1. Poor girl. Watch lots of TV and sleep.

  4. Awwww poor kid!! I hope she's feeling better. Every time my daughter gets sick I always think the worst will happen. I'm pretty sure it's a mom thing. I'll keep her in my prayers.
