Bible Alive! Tuesday: Love Is...and Is Not...

Sorry this Bible Alive! post is MAJORLY tardy today,
but at least we are actually starting on our
"Fruit of the Spirit" summer lessons...

First fruit served is Love...

***************************************************

After reading I Corinthians 13:4-8
to the kiddos at breakfast,
we played a little review game...
I created a matching game called
"Love Is...and Is Not"
to review the attributes of love...

(You can download it by clicking HERE.)

The object of the game...
...is to create matches.

"Hearts" are to be matched up with words that "Love Is"
and
"X's" are to matched up with words that "Love Is Not."

************************************************

This game really helped...
...facilitate more discussion...
...about each of Love's attributes.

Here's a GREAT example that occurred during the game:

Both of the girls had at few matches
early in the game,
but Little Wild Man had none.
This did not make for a happy camper.

BUT-
You know what his first match was?
Love PERSISTS.

(I believe that "Love is PATIENT"
would have also been
a good first match for him too...)

When he got persistence,
I was able to talk to him about how he had
to keep trying during the game without giving up
in order to win his match.

Neat-O, huh?
Little Wild Man sure thought so...

*********************************************

We will also be trying to squeeze in
a few other activities about
love this week,
but for now,
I would sure like to know
what ways you made the Bible come Alive!
for your kiddos this week...

  2. 50 lashes with a wet noodle for posting so late. Maybe we'll take away some kind of title or something......

I'll have to download that game, sounds fun!

  3. What a great learning opportunity, even though he was sad! Glad he persisted! :)
Here are a couple of things that we did while learning about the fruit of the spirit:

  4. What a great idea. That is a coincidence ( God's plan?) with the little guy's first match.
