Today we are killing two birds with one stone...
At our church, we have a "Giving Tree" this year. Every family/individual was encouraged to take a mitten from the tree, do what it instructs, write about the experience on the provided paper, and turn the paper back into the church's staff.

Our family chose this mitten...
MEANWHILE, I also signed up to participate in "The Hillbilly Housewife Virtual Cookie Exchange 2009."
SO... Why not kill two birds with one stone?
(Perhaps another reason I keep using this expression is because we found a dead bird in the garage yesterday- but I digress...)

Here's the cookie/candy recipe we are creating to give to an elderly shut-in friend of ours AND posting for the virtual cookie exchange...
"Pretzels with Pizazz"
The reason I chose to make this recipe is for a few reasons:
1. It's VERY kid friendly
2. It's QUICK and EASY
3. I had ALL the ingredients on hand
4. The possibilities are ENDLESS with this recipe!
First you'll need to gather your ingredients:
Pretzel Twists
Rolos
Any other leftover candy/nuts you have!
Grab some pajama-clad kiddos to help you out...
(not essential, but definitely makes the process more fun!)

These look so good. I love Rollo candies. Your kiddos are adorable. I think my 2 granddaughters (ages 2 and 5 1/2) would love to make these with me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary- and YES, your granddaughters will LOVE to make them with you!
